The Western Pa Writing Project is not a one-shot event for teachers. Educators who complete the Western Pa Writing Project’s Summer Institute for Teachers become WPWP Fellows and members of the National Writing Project. WPWP Fellows enjoy many opportunities to participate in ongoing Writing Project activities, including creative and professional writing retreats, professional development workshops and youth writing camps.
WPWP Fellows enter an ever-growing network of teacher-consultants, many of whom are among the most engaged teacher leaders and administrators in the region.
The WPWP supports fellows who wish to lead school-based professional development through inservice, inquiry groups and workshops. If you are a WPWP fellow interested in being a workshop provider, please contact the WPWP Inservice Coordinator, Beth Voltz. If you would like to participate in our Working Poet Continuity Series, please contact Cj Coleman. If you are interested in joing our Digital Inquiry Group, please contact Michelle King. For other WPWP continuity events, including teaching in the Young Writers Institute and being involved with site leadership, please contact the WPWP office.
Whether you are a new or veteran fellow, we want you to stay involved, to invite your colleagues to Writing Project events and to nominate exceptional educators for the Summer Institute for Teachers.
