Community Writing: An Evening Writing Retreat

Join the WPWP and WPCTE for a special evening writing retreat with Patricia Park! This retreat will be a master class on Patricia Park’s YA novel focusing on craft, analysis, and creative writing exercises.

Patricia Park is the acclaimed author of Re Jane and Imposter Syndrome and Other Confessions of Alejandra Kim, known for her sharp attention to voice, identity, and the complexities of belonging. Her work offers a powerful entry point into thinking about YA literature not only as a genre, but as a space for critical storytelling, cultural reflection, and creative possibility.

During this master class, participants can expect:

- Insight into the craft of YA fiction, including voice, character, and narrative structure
- Guided analysis of key elements of contemporary YA literature
- Generative writing exercises designed to support your own creative and instructional practice
- Time and space to write, reflect, and connect with fellow educators and writers

All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

Dinner will be served at 5pm. All are welcome!
